What is Play Therapy?
Play is a child's natural language. Play therapy uses the power of play, creativity and the therapeutic relationship to help younger children express feelings and work through experiences they may not yet have the words for.
Rather than talking through problems, children explore and resolve them through imaginative, sensory and expressive play in a safe, supportive space.
How We Help
Play therapy can support young children experiencing:
- Anxiety, worries and big emotions
- Changes in the family — separation, loss, new siblings
- Difficulty with friendships or social play
- Low confidence or self-esteem
- Processing difficult or frightening experiences
- Building emotional vocabulary and regulation
Our Approach
Our play therapists follow the child's lead within a carefully held therapeutic space. We trust that, given the right environment and a warm, accepting relationship, children will use play to make sense of their world in their own time.
We work in partnership with families, sharing themes and offering gentle strategies to support your child between sessions.
What to Expect
Your first session is a parent-only intake conversation, where we learn about your child, your family and what you're hoping for. We'll also explain how play therapy works and answer any questions.
Weekly play sessions then give your child a consistent, predictable space, with regular parent check-ins to review progress and celebrate change together.
